W65C02S6TPG-14 in 6x0x board
I bought a W65C02S6TPG-14 from Mouser thinking it was the same thing as a "normal" 6502. It didn't work. No R/W signal was being generated. It was actually open. So I ordered a Rockwell 6502 on EBay. When it arrived, all worked.
Today, I went back and looked at the W65C02S data sheet. I found that RWB (pin 34) goes open if BE (pin 36) goes low (or not high, wherever the transition is at). Looking at the schematic of the board for some convenient Vcc, I found that pin 35 is pulled high and passes thru pin 1 of JP2. Pin 1 of JP3 is hooked to pin 36. By placing a jumper from pin 1 JP2 to pin 1 JP3 I could drag BE (pin 36) high.
The chip came to life.
