RE: N8VEM

Hi Martin!  Thanks!  The CPU and UART clocks are TTL oscillators are 4 pin devices.  They fit into the 14 pin DIP sockets and leave some holes empty.  That is normal and OK.

The RTC requires a crystal tuned to 32.768 KHz to keep accurate time.  A 32KHz clock will appear to work initially but will drift quickly and become inaccurate.  Since the RTC is not really essential, I would leave the crystal off until you can secure a 32.768 KHz crystal.

Your resistor SIP should be sufficient for this application.  Those resistors are pull-ups only and generally use very little current and draw little power.

Good luck with your build!  Thanks and have a nice day!

PS, I’ve sent you an invitation to join the N8VEM mailing list so other builders can help and learn from your SBC build and test

Hi ! I ve got problem with clock on N8VEM . I ve got clock with 4 pins only , is that big problem ?

And is it big diference when i ve got 32Khz instead 32.768Khz ?

And i havent got this  http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?x=0&y=0&lang=en&site=us&KeyWords=4306R-1-102LF-ND+  mine have got less Watts . Only 0,125 W
