Re: [N8VEM: 13744] RE: Enclosures

I need to double check, but I think so.    There is some margin in the case design, so as long as the mounting holes in the board did not change (which I do not think they did), it should work fine.

Wow. That looks really cool!
Is that the "florescent  blue" acrylic?

Hi Dan

I would like to order a case kit. Will the case fit the latest version of the board?

Thanks

Hi Dan,

I have been building my N8 case in slow steps over the last week or so.  As of today, it is complete.  I am thrilled with how nice this case out.  I really appreciate the work you did on this.

I have posted a couple pictures on the wiki for anyone that is interested: http://n8vem-sbc.pbworks.com/w/browse/#view=ViewFolder&param=Wayne%20Warthen

Thanks!

This is great Dan.  I am definitely in.  Is there a website where I could get some idea of the color and translucency choices?

Thanks!

Hey All!

Attached are pictures of the latest version of the acrylic N8 enclosure.   I think it is ready to go at this point, so if anyone wants one, let me know.   I am going to sell KITS of the laser cut acrylic and all of the hardware (stand offs, screws, nuts, etc.) for $50.00 including shipping.   I can order florescent, transparent, translucent or opaque acrylic in most colors, so please specify color.     The kit will be complete EXCEPT the solvent necessary to glue the pieces together.

Here is a really good video on how to glue acrylic together:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT6Ow_cBTps&feature=relmfu

here is an example of the solvent necessary to complete the kit:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/IPS-Weld-on-3-Solvent-Plexiglass-Acrylic-Glue-4-oz-/200686342923?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb9d6930b

I start by taping the assembly together with removable scotch tape, then gluing together, and removing the tape once dry.   Example assembly pictures and the cad drawings are in the “N8 Case Construction.zip” file on the WIKI in the N8 folder.

My PayPal account is: danwe...@gmail.com, please include your shipping address, acrylic opacity choice and color choice.   I do not have all of acrylic choices on-hand, so I will likely have to  order the acrylic.   This takes 3-4 days, so please allow 5 business  days for me to get the kit in the mail.

Thanks!

Dan Werner

I think I am getting pretty close to an N8 enclosure.    Just a few more tweaks and it should go together quite well.  (See attached)

Yes the ecb connector is open.  I hope to be able to have all of the connectors accessible.

Very nice indeed!

Is the ECB bus connector still accessible from outside the case?

Thanks and have a nice day!

PS, the N8 PCB continues grinding away in the trace router.  It is looking
fairly good now.
