Re: [N8VEM: 13857] Re: Question for understanding Zeta's memory structure

Hi Norbert,

I think you should be able to edit the page yourself if you are logged in.  Have you tried that?

B: is the ROM drive.  The directory listing you attached looked fine.  You will not be able to copy anything to the ROM disk because it is a read only device.  A: is the RAM drive and starts out empty.  You will be able to copy stuff there.  The RAM drive contents will only be preserved across power off if you have the battery installed.

Hi all,

My Zeta SBC is ready now I and would like to know, wether the capacity of the drives A0:  and B0: and their status (R/W, R/O) are correct.

I have a Zeta SBC board version 1.3, and ZETA Z80 SBC Boot Loader v1.5.2 (RomWBW-WWarthen-120407T0910) .

Is it ok that STATshows both drives to be R/W and that there are 56k free on B0: ?

When I try to copy a small  program (2k) to B0: then the message occurs:

ERROR: READ ONLY DISK (ROM)
BDOS ERR ON B: BAD SECTOR

Isn't B0: a RAM copy of a part of the ROM contents?

I have attached a screenshot for further information.

Thanks,
Norbert
