Re: Parallel Port Propeller?

Oh, I see now.  It's an external serial EEPROM.  I had no idea.
I assumed a special programmer was needed to program some sort of
Flash or EEPROM inside the Propeller chip itself.

Hi Bill,

There are three ways to program Propeller's firmware:
1. Using an EPROM programmer
2. Using the serial port on the ParPortProp board
3. Using a PropPlug adapter, which is basically a USB to serial
converter

Wayne developed Propeller firmware for ParPortProp, a test utility and
the support in RomWBW (it is available in RomWBW2-beta). Everything is
posted on the N8VEM Wiki.

I didn't have plans to provide pre-programmed EEPROMs for the
ParPortProp board, mainly because these EEPROMs can be easily
programmed without any additional hardware. But if it will be demand
for pre-programmed EEPROMs, I will consider distributing them.

Thanks,
Sergey
