That is rather old rommage you are using. The Xmodem on some of those rommages were rather picky about modem signals and cable wiring as they talk directly to the hardware.

I would suggest that you use one of Wayne's (WFW...) rommages at they have had a lot more development and Xmodem is more likely to work for you.
