                   SBC-188 v.3 board errata
                        board 3.1-004

1. RR701, rpack 5-pin, is updated from 470 ohm to 4.7K ohm; consequently,
LEDs D701-4 need to be of very high brightness (>100 mcd). It may
be advisable to use a socket for this Rpack5.
2. U704, 74LS05, may need to have pins 8 & 10 disconnected if P801 or
P802 IDE connectors are not populated. Bend the pins upward.
3. R601, 68 ohm, should be socketed. This resistor controls the bright-
ness of D601. Higher values are preferred (with a high bright-
	ness Run/Halt LED).

N.B.: Board 3.2-005 includes the above errata

Comments:
1. U202, the 2X CPU oscillator, should be an EVEN number of megahertz. Odd
or fractional values will alter the 4 microsecond Timer 2 clock
	period.
2. P703 is normally jumpered 1-2,3-4,5-6,7-8. Terminals that use DTR/DSR
protocol, rather than RTS/CTS protocol, may want to use the 1-3,2-4,
5-7,6-8 alternate jumper configuration. If in doubt, use the normal
	setting.
3. GAL22V10 speed seems to be unimportant. I've used 25ns Lattice GALs on
a board running with a 50mhz oscillator. (25mhz CPU speed)
4. K801 The only jumper setting that is used is None, or 2-3. The 1-2
setting is for a connector that is on the schematic, but was not
added to the board because of space constraints. The 2-3 setting
applies VCC to pin 20 of P801, the PPIDE connector.
5. P804 controls the application of VCC to pin 20 of the IDE8 connector,
	P802.
6. P601 is normally set to 1-2, INT2 setting. Future s/w may use the 2-3
INTA0 setting with an external interrupt controller.
7. K601 controls the Reset output. 2-3 for Kontron is preferred. This
allows a reset momentary switch to input a reset signal on pin C-31
of the 96-pin ECB backplane connector.
8. C701, the super capacitor that backs up the RTC/NVRAM, should be 13.5mm
or less in diameter. Or use a cap that is 5mm thick and mounts
	vertically.
