Recently forum member mikesmith alerted me of an eBay seller selling a batch of IP940 boards at quite reasonable price of $50 with free shipping. So I purchased two and worked with mikesmith to boot up the board. IP940 is made by Perceptics; it is a VME mezzanine board consists of 33MHz 68040, 12 meg DRAM and 2 meg of flash. It needs a baseboard to provide power and I/O via 4x32 Euro-style connector. I do not have such baseboard, so I prototyped one and later build a pc board baseboard. This is rev0 of IP940 baseboard. It uses EPM7128S CPLD as glue logic supporting quad-serial OX16C954, compact flash, and 8-bit I/O expansion port. Rev0 pc board is working, here is its homepage.

Rev1 of IP940 baseboard should be the same dimension as the IP940 (6"x4.5") and have video and PS2 supports; network support is also desirable, beyond that, I'm not not sure what functions should be added. The design files are open to all so anyone interested can add your own.

Apologies for not jumping on this thread as soon as it was posted; recovering from illness and catching up with work has kept me away.

I bought all the rest of the IP940 boards from the eBay seller to make sure they didn't get away / scrapped. Right now I have 4x 12M and 3x 8M boards not spoken for, all MC68040RC33, no XC or 25MHz parts.
I'm asking $40 for the 8M boards, and $50 for the 12M boards, plus actual shipping from California. Additional options:
- 30mm fan and heatsink clip (included)
- Set of MLCC bypass caps to replace the tantalum caps on the board (free on request)
- 4x new 39SF040 flash ROMs (12M boards only), optionally flashed with serial bootloader compatible with @Plasmo's baseboard ($13)
- 4x used W27E040 EEPROMs (8M boards only), optionally flashed with serial bootloader compatible with @Plasmo's baseboard ($8)
For the 8M boards, stacking an end-eject socket like https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/535-32-C300-10 with a regular socket makes removal / insertion of the EEPROMs pretty painless.

Those are MVME-177s, the '060s were almost certainly harvested for Amiga accelerators, sadly. They're a great little board with good NetBSD support, and having them stripped like that feels like a crime.
I have not tried to run mine bare on the bench. I suspect it wants to be in a crate. The documentation for the board is readily available; you only really need the 712 board if you want the Ethernet transceiver - you can run a regular AUI transceiver directly off the P2 connector, ditto TTL serial and SCSI.
If you want to get yours going, you'll probably need to replace the RTC. It's socketed and they're not expensive, but it will be cranky about the Ethernet MAC address until you do.
