Hi all this is my first post.
I am having difficulty understanding how to re-compile the firmware (bios) for the SBC-188 v3 board.
Up to now I have used examples from the net to create my own boot/monitor programme for a board I made on my own,
but I don`t know how to work with the .c or .h files to create a working bios for the sbc-188 ?
I have tried the Bin file provided, but I only have 2x 128K RAM chips fitted and therefore I think I need to change the bios.
Any help on the process to re create my own configuration would be a great help
Thanks.
OldeFool.

It's been a while since I've done this myself, but you need to install OpenWatcom and NASM on a development system. The file "makefile" has some comments at the top that indicate which versions to install. You can override configuration defaults, or just edit the related cfg file to get it to compile.

Hi Rich, thanks for the info.
I have NASM running under Win xp and have used it successfully to compile my own .bin (com) files,
however, I have not used OpenWatcom.
I have it installed as per the requirements on the Wiki site, but alas, I don`t Know where to begin with it.
The IDE allows me to open or create a project, but which type I don`t know!
How i include/import the source files, again, not a clue!

Has anybody a simple step by step I could follow.
I only wish to learn the procedure of using OpenWatcom and Nasm together to produce my own .bin file,
I am not asking anyone to do it for me.
I couldn`t find any more appropriate forum, so I thought I would try here.
Thanks.
Colin.

Hi Colin,

I posted about setting up the build to flash a new BIOS
in your other thread.
I set it up on WIN10 but I think it'll run fine on XO

I specifically got an "XP box" for this, but it ended up
much simpler on WIN10.
