I can type. Without looking, I reach up for the numerals in the upper row of keys. It was the only way we could do it in typing class in high school on the typewriters. I always keep the number lock off. One reason is that my CAD uses the number keypad for cursor directions, with the corner keys being exactly 45° diagonal, and in my programmer's text editor, the 5 in the middle puts the line that has the cursor active in the middle of the window. These are super handy. I also use the DEL key that's on the decimal point of the number keypad.
