The boards you showed do not look like the design by rhkoolstar. The SOIC pads spacing is too narrow so it is hard to solder. I was hoping to see how well the boards separate out with the rows of drill holes as border.

It looks like maybe that is one of the older iterations from the top of the thread....

These are indeed the SOJ-36 to DIP-32 converters (final design). This was the original request. You are referring to the SOIC 8,14 & 16 to DIP boards. Those are still in the mail as I understand it.

And yes, they are a little finicky to solder, but that was a given when you want them to fit inside the DIP footprint.

Today, the mail arrived.
And I got the PCB's.
Separating them is working well, they break beautifully at the line.
Also, assembling them is not difficult.
See the picture.

Thanks again for the good design.
It's much fun to see an idea come to reality with some co-öperation.

Hello,

Would it also be possible to make a professional board to convert a 32 pin PLCC to a 32 pin Dip?
I've made those boards at home once and it's not easy to solder the part.
But making it myself is not as good as having a board made by a professional company.

I'd like to use the SST39SF40-55ns in a DIL socket to replace the slower AMD 29F040.

(nevermind, missed the 55ns part)

Do you mean something looks like this? I see you live in Netherlands and it is too expensive to send you the board from USA. I can send you the Gerber photoplots and you can get it made cheaply.
Bill
Edit, BTW, it does work. I've successfully programmed the AT49F040 in TL866 programmer.

If you're looking for ones with a PLCC socket, they're readily available since they're commonly used as adapters in programmers. A quick search of Ebay showed dozens of them starting at just over $1.

Hello Plasmo,

Yes, those are what I mean.
I know about the ones with socket, but the sockets are way to big.
Also, they come with very thick pins and replacing those is not so easy.

Yes, the files would be fine.
SEEED for one is cheap enough, last time about $16 for 10 boards and that's (much more) than sufficient for me.

Here are the gerber files.

The drill for DIP pins are 28 mil, too small for the standard header (square) pins. You'll need to populate it with turned pin header. You may notice a few pads are pushed away from DIP pads to have sufficient clearance. For those pads there are still adequate room to solder the J leads. These boards were made by Seeed Studio, 10 adapters per board, you'll have a lot of adapters!

I'm in need of an adapter to fit 8mbit of low power static ram in a DIP32 footprint (JEDEC pinout) Would anyone be able to assist with the board layout/design?

Thanks!

Unless you're planning on limiting access to 4mbit, I'm curious which chip you're planning on using since an 8mbit chip such as AS6C8008 or AS7C38096A requires 33 pins (A*20, D*8, CE# or CE2, WE#, OE#, Vcc and Vss).

I need it with the 32 pin pinout matching a 8mbit JEDEC eprom (27080 or equivalent). Put /WE on its own jumper wire for board connection. Low power static ram would be best.

Would gladly pay for assistance in layout or production. Thanks!

Should be fairly straightforward to put something like an AS6C8008 into a DIP32 footprint. Here's a first pass that definitely needs some cleanup and double checking.

Since I don't need these adapters, I'm not planning on building them. PM sent on how you can get them made.
