I have an unpopulated PCB for the "Home Computer ver 1" [maybe called the "N8"?]. A long time ago, I started to collect the parts needed to build it, but for some reason, put it aside. Is it worth trying to build it? Is there a site that gives builder tips, BOM, jumper descriptions, resistor & diode IDs, etc. Anyone have one of these things running? Any software or monitor available for it?

I notice that the silk screen specifies a Z8S180. Why? Why not a Z180VSG? I see: ASCI_OSC, OSC_FDC, and CPU_OSC, but no values given. [There's also an RTC_OSC, but I'm pretty sure I know what that is!]

Just curious!

Hi
Yes, it is the N8. Probably a bit dated now but still a decent design. Especially the later ones that had improvements rolled in. Dan Werner made a plastic case for the N8 and it looked really cool. I have one. It is a greenish tint plastic like Lexan or plexiglass.

Thanks, Andrew Lynch
