All --

I pulled out my old Z80v2 board so I could test my SCG before using it with the 65C816 board. The ROM was so old (2010), I upgraded it to RomWBW 3.0.1 and made a new CF card using the RomWBW image, modified with another user area with the SCG test programs in it. There's something funny with the CP/M 2.2 directory, which I've seen before -- but I don't remember why -- so I wanted to ask.

Regardless if I boot CP/M 2.2 from ROM or the PPIDE, when I do a DIR on any of the directories, CP/M only prints the first filename in the directory and then returns to the prompt. If I boot to the Z-System, all of the files show.

Any idea why this happens? It's possible I messed something up in building the new image files, but that process was very easy and automated, so I don't think it's that.

Thanks!
Rich

I'm surprised no one responded. It is a well known CP/M problem; when carriage return is immediately followed by line feed, only the first file will be displayed. You should only send carriage return.

Hi Bill,

>> when carriage return is immediately followed by line feed, only the first file will be displayed.

I've been working with CP/M for years, and I didn't know that!!!

Huh, I've been using CP/M for years as well and didn't know that either. Thanks Bill. I'm going to check the HyperTerm settings and see if that's the case.

...later...

Indeed, that's the case. I had the "add line feed" box checked for some reason. Not sure why.

So I'm inferring that's something that the author of ZSystem fixed...
