Should we create a separate sub-forum for the Multicomp?[ 11 votes ]
1. Yes 4 / 36%
2. No 5 / 45%
3. Don't Care 2 / 18%

In general I prefer to have the smallest number of sub-forums possible until we grow to where we need to do otherwise. I don't see the sense in having 15 forums with 1 post/month. However, we have a lot of Multicomp related discussion lately compared to the ECB cards and other non-FPGA SBCs.

I'm wondering if it might not make sense to split off a separate 'Multicomp' sub-forum. This would allow people looking for Multicomp information to find it all in one place, and would let us better see the 'other' stuff in the main forum.

Right now there are a small enough number of threads in the forum as a whole that I can still move them around to put old threads into a new forum.

Please respond to the attached poll within the next week (and add your thoughts in this thread if you want to).

I voted 'no', it's not that I'm against a subforum that much, but I'm not so sure that Multicomp discussions will continue to dominate the discussions just because it has been that way recently. I suspect that at a later time there will be more discussions about something else, and so on and so forth. So until the forum starts getting an order of magnitude more posts per day I think it's simplest to have everything in one place. Sometimes there may be several days since the last time I checked in, and there are only a few posts still. They can easily be viewed in one go from the 'General Discussion' page.

Whilst there is some Multicomp traffic at the moment it will probably die down and go quiet for a while until someone brings up something topical. The same thing happened with the Gryphon and the SBC6120.

I don't think there is sufficient volume of traffic to justify the effort in creating a separate Sub-Forum.

Cheers!

I agree with Max -- there's just not enough traffic to justify dividing up the forum and doing so means there are two (or more) places to check for new threads.

I vote YES, because this helps to find all new developments regarding this topic at a glance, especially if you only step by from time to time. So you don't miss important news, because you did not scroll through all threads.

Yes, I'm still dealing with the multicomp but just did not have enough time, recently. Still have the goal to run it on the MiST.
